    Exclamation It just keeps disconnecting!

    hi,
I have a DSL connection, using the ISP of BT (BT Broadband). I have this problem where the internet disconnects once or twice a day, sometimes it could be five or six. My Phone Line from the Modem itself to the socket is not been put throught the splitter/filter could this be the problem. The reason why we havent done this is because when we try to put it through the filter we can not connect what so ever.

    Any Ideas?
    Thanks in advance

Your filter should have to connections on it, one for the modem, one for a telephone. The telephone side is the only one that's actually filtered, you don't need the filter to just connect the modem.

Your ISP, BT Broadband, probably drops your connection after so long of inactivity. You can download "keep alive" programs or invest in a router that can be set to PING your ISP so often so the connection isn't dropped.
