Home network transfer speed is slow. Help.
I have two NICs in my main PC, one is connected to the DSL and the other is connected to a 4 Port 3Com hub for connection sharing. When I transfer files from the main PC to the other computers it goes fast as expected. But when I copy files from one of the other comps back to the main PC the "!" light on the hub goes on solid and transfers are very slow. I have tried different NICs and still have the same problem. It is entirely possible that I am just stupid and have configured something wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Sounds like collisions, perhaps one of your cables is a crossover? Try another port on the hub as well.

I will check the cables, maybe get some new ones. The ones I have were given to me so I am not sure how they are wired. I will try some new ones...thanks.

Are your network cards as well as your hub all 10/100?
