Hi all,
I just bought a domain through godaddy.com and its not really working for me. I understand that I need to have my own name server. So I have BIND set up on a server but on the name server configuration page when I put in the IP address of the name server t wont let me. I am guessing it wants something like ns.whatever.com. This is the first time doing this name server stuff so I am really confused. Anyone got any ideas?

I'm with GoDaddy too. Why would you need to have your own name server? I don't. I'm not even sure what it is.
I just have the default name server provided by GoDaddy. It's listed as: PARK3.SECURESERVER.NET
and PARK4.SECURESERVER.NET |

No. My GoDaddy url simply redirects to my web page which is hosted from my ISP's servers. |

I log into my accout at GoDaddy, and I go to the "forwarding/masking" section of my url settings, and I put in the destination url I want it to forward to. That's all.
My web page is currently located on my ISP's servers at this url: http://outpatient.home.comcast.net
That's the url I have my GoDaddy forwarding to. So when people put in this url: http://www.0utpatient.com
it takes them to that url.
(Just fyi, after you put in your forwarding url it can take up to 24 hours to take effect.) |
