Actually, they may have taken it offline if they knew what would happen. Would have been the easiest precaution to take.

I agree with Mick, Microsoft might have taken the sites down for precaution, but you never know!

Nah, they wouldnt do that. Too much impact on biz. The worm is designed to do a SYN flood which they can block and work with their upstream providers to block.

Woah. That's one hell of alot of servers to shut down. Even If microsft shut them down in case they g0t dos'd it's still going to cost a fair bit.
