Can I use my home pc from a remote location?

I don't want to use pcanywhere or subscribe to a service. Isn't there someway to use Windows XP's remote desktop feature to login to my computer from a friend's house or a hotel and use it?

Set Up Your Computer for Remote Desktop

set this up, allow your firewall to allow incoming connections. find out what your ip address is at home, make sure you have a nice strong password

and you should be good to go.

this explains how to set it up so all you need is a web browser note: it uses IIS which has alot of secuirty problems
