Did something get corrupt here....

Here goes:

Here I was surfing the net when all of a sudden I got this window (shown below) upon the screen.

First I tried to repair Internet Explorer. Didn't take. Then I tried to install previous configuration (Version 5.5). Nope; didn't work either. Then I tried to reinstall version 6 (but first I made sure that I backed up my favorites).

It looked as if it went away; but it periodically comes back. I usually end up closing the IE window and restart Windows.

I even used system restore in Win XP Pro going back to the last three system changes (starting with the most recent). That didn't take either.

I cannot rule out any specific web site because it happens sporadically at different times. I originally thought that it was only happening at certain sites that I would go to. The only thing that I have running in the background is my firewall (Sygate) and Norton AV. I have the latest updates with those and have tried it both with and without the apps running.

My system:

Windows XP Pro
AMD XP 2400 mhz
512 MB PC 2700 DDR RAM
60 GB Western Digital HDD
GeForce 2 64MB Video Card
Shuttle AK32 Mobo (with latest bios update)

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

You could look at 'Even Viewer' in 'Administrative Tools' to see if it give you any hints. Look under 'Application'.

Send a message via ICQ to TOAD6147
Run Ad-Aware and/or Spybot and see if that helps.

Welcome to TechIMO!!

Out of curiousity did you "click here" to see what the details were?

And if so what were they?
