Same web page no matter what address I type

Hi,

Any time I get type a web address into AOL I get the same web page all the time...www.hugesearch.net

It is also somehow my homepage and no matter how many times I change the default homepage to something else it reverts back to it.

So basically, I cannot surf the internet by typing a web address. I have ran virus checks and stuff and the PC seems clear.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Jamesy

You'll want to run Ad-Aware. Install it and run it using all the defaults. It will find some spyware/adware/malware/etc.. which you can delete.

It is also a good idea to click the [web update] icon (globe?) which will update the definitions (much like Antivirus Definitions work.)

Hi,

I have ran Adware 6.0 and although it finds some dodgy files to quarantine\delete, the problem remains.

Depending on your level of computer knowledge, you can remove the hugesearch.net browser hijacker by following the instructions listed here:

or just use a different browser
Opera and Mozilla do not get hijacked. You get hijacked because you use internet explorer and install an activex control (or installed applications that come with it) that automatically look for IE and hijack it.

lol

yeah, you gotta be careful, you can easily be highjacked without even downloading anything...

if your gonna use IE, adjust your security controls to prevent those activex controls from running
