Wireless Router To Wired Router (Trying to Make a Switch)
Okay I am a networking novice. Here is the problem. I have installed a wireless network that works fine. I have a dlink 624 wireless router. On the other end I am connecting an xbox through the xbox wireless adapter which is really only a bridge. Connection is great and fine there are no problems. The ip address I get is 192.168.0.103. I can log on to Xbox just fine. The problem is that I am trying to share the connection on that end with a replay tv. Therefore, I hooked up a wired router to the xbox adapter(bridge). I tried configuring the wired router's ip address range to match the wireless router's. Sure enough I get an ip address to the xbox that matches, but now I cannot log on. Also, I tried disabling DHCP. I still got the same ip address and cannot log on. The XBOX port by the way is 21. Do I need to open up a port on one of the routers or disable something or do something as far as passwords is concerned? For further info, my wired router is an NR401 by Network Associates. My Wireless is a D Link 624. I have a 3ghz P4 with 1 gig of Ram. This is wirelessly networked to a AMD 2600+ with 512k ram, and hopefully on another end to an xbox and replay tv. Thanks for any help.

Sounds a bit weird to me. You disabled DHCP and still got an IP?!? Unless you manually entered the IP you shouldn't have one.
This is all a bit over my head, but I'd suggest turing off DHCP on both routers if you can, and manually allocating all IP's. Just to be sure, reboot everything (routers included) after setting 'em all manually. Then try again.
Good luck, hopefully someone who can actually tell you if this is possible or not will come along shortly. Never played with an X-Box myself.
Cheers
Mick
