    How's This Setup?

    Howdy.

I'm wondering what the more network saavy folk think of this setup... I have a three-system network consisting of two "client" machines and a network/proxy server. (See attached for diagram)

    How good is it security-wise?

    Thanks.

Good. A proxy generally only allows a few specified protocols outbound, they often have the ability to do user authentication, and many have a cache. These abilities are more than most SOHO routers. The downside is that many net applications will not function properly with a proxy. Although this seems to be continually improving.
