I am having that problem. I have WinXP. I had no problem connecting to the internet until I started using an ISP with a turbo accelerator. After I cancelled the ISP, I now cannot view any web pages even though I am logged on and can get my email. All I get is the The Page Cannot Be Displayed message.
Any help you can give me will be appreciated. |

Welcome to TechIMO!
I assume you are using Internet Explorer. If so, make sure all proxy servers are disabled.
Look at the the top of IE, click tools, click internet options, click connections, select your current connection, click settings, uncheck use proxy server (if checked), then click ok.
Hope this helps,
Robert Richmond

edoras,
do you mean you can change the page that pops up saying "page cannot be displayed?"
I'm interested, sure.

sistav, nice "searching of the archived threads!"
and rob, thanks for the 411.
it's little details like that which proves I will never be a programmer...I deal with hardware...big clunky hardware. lol
and to keep this from becoming a "thread crap" I'd like to pose the question: "Can the page that pops up [when a URL cannot be accessed] be modified to something more customized?"
