Netgear switch

I created a small network from my my living room to my bed room using a netgear switch on a RCA cable modem but cannot connect on line with my pc in my room.

I checked my Ip adress on the pc in the bed room and it is different than the one on the living room pc. i contacted comcast cable and they said as far as they know i shouldn't have a problem.

I doule checked my internet setting but i just cant connect.
Any suggestions on what i may be able to do?

What operating system are you using? If its Win XP did you use the Internet Connection Setup?

Ok, did you run the Network Connection Wizard?

since your trying to share off broadband, most likely your isp does not allow multiple computers to share off the internet. you need a router or enable ICS on one of the machines
