You know, like you imagine YOU do.
AFAIK, wanting to engage in the American dream meant actually coming here legally, just like my father did, and not sending all the money back to your homeland.

And I love the shot at saying "with HARD WORK."... As if illegal immigrants are the only people in this country that work hard for their money, and as if no one here works hard for their own, legally.

"The U.S. Justice Department estimated that 270,000 illegal immigrants served jail time nationally in 2003. Of those, 108,000 were in California. Some estimates show illegals now make up half of California's prison population, creating a massive criminal subculture that strains state budgets and creates a nightmare for local police forces."

"In March 2000, Congress made public Department of Justice statistics showing that, over the previous five years, the INS had released over 35,000 criminal aliens instead of deporting them. Over 11,000 of those released went on to commit serious crimes, over 1,800 of which were violent ones [including 98 homicides, 142 sexual assaults, and 44 kidnappings].
seems high enough of a cost to me....

Did you read any statistics about how much the non-Mexican illegals are costing us? You do know that not all illegals are Mexican, right?

Many have lost there jobs because the person from mexico offered the same effort for the lowest pay.

(then again, when 5 mexicans share the same car and 10 mexicans all share the same place you dont need to make alot of money to live)
Wow. If that ain't the pot calling the kettle black.
I think that if Americans are going to complain about the English of others, we should make sure ours is up to par first.

Did he have a birth certificate?

I would hazzard if he was deported, he did not. Without one, you may not be an American citizen until you are legally decleared one and assigned a Social Security number.

I take it that you were not present at the persons birth or you would have vouched for him? Basically, are you his witness and can prove his citizenship or are you going on what you were told?

Most illegals are very proud of where they came from.(for whatever thats worth) Sounds a bit stupid but all you have to do is ask them. They'll tell you. The problem is getting them to do the right thing in coming here. But they have no problem going back to where they came from cause family and friends are there who can help them get back here illegaly again! Technically you can drop them off where ever. They are like homing pigeons and always find there way back home.

Do you think we should have a border Knot?

    And if so, why?

You guys are so funny. You imagine that illegal immigrant Mexicans are doing such damage to..what? The economy? Your property values? What?

These Mexicans that you fear so much are a non-issue. Our so-called "Leaders" are doing MUCH worse damage to our economy!

These (Mexican) guys are so integrated into our economy, that I'd be willing to bet good money that you guys have banked quite a few dollars that came from Mexican hands, hmmm?

The guy being sent to Cuba is a play on "Born in East LA" with Cheech Marin...

Did'nt the guy know his SSN number?
Or his place of birth to pull a birth certificate?
Or his high school so they could pull his school records?
And in 1970 he should have been signed up for the draft?

I think he didn't try too hard not to be deported.

If you say you are a US citizen, you are placed on "hold". You are not dumped in some Mexican back street. Mexico also wants to know where you are from.

Interesting point. Except I don't like poor people. I think we have enough. We have poor people who live here collecting welfare. We have created a desperately poor underclass who is willing to live in intolerable conditions to save money to send back to Mexico rather than re circulate it here in the USA where it helps us. We also have a desperately poor underclass who sits and hopes for a job to come to them some day, it they can only dodge drugs and bullets long enough.

I don't want to import more poor people. We have plenty!

they have to work, don't you worry, but hey, imagine, all those mexicans would get a good work too in your country and pay taxes? now that would help your economy

there are always two kinds of people, those who want to work and those who just want to live on social money, one thing can only be done by an american!

A license is a proof of citizenship? Just about every illegal Mexican I have known relatively well has had a license for years. Many of them even pay taxes.

No birth certificate? No license? No proof at all?

Ray, honestly though, was the guy not able to prove his citizenship?

Well, they're not deporting people just because they aren't carrying proof, only if they cannot prove citizenship. When you go to the NJ MVC, you'd better bring proof or you aren't getting a NJ license. But I'm not carrying it around.

And I know alot of highschool kids, college kids, and older men that have either lost jobs or were not hired due to the influx of cheap labor from over the border. Yes, it is true that Mexicans and other aliens are not taking jobs from engineers or doctors or even businessmen. But it is also true that not all Mexicans and aliens are doing jobs that were just ignored before. They are not all shoveling feces out of a bucket into a larger bucket. The construction industry is one that has been engulfed by aliens and this DOES affect the people of this country.
