the power supply is a SPI 300W. i dont think that MoBo will work because it says it dont support a p4 with a fsb of 533

1st off, what PSU did you get as a replacement?

    as for the mobo...
heres an open box option ...
Newegg.com - Open Box: JetWay JI31GM4-L-LF LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this should be backwards compatible with his older CPU

well thats what im thinking too cuz i know that the board that came stock with it supports the new ram cards which are 667 old one was a 533. but turns out the only MB i cant get to run a P4 with a 533 FSB and 667 cards is the same one that is fried in it lol. tried to look for a aftermarket but cant seem to find one that will support the CPU and the ram on the same baord. if you guys have seen one that i missed let me know

eMachines are known to have poor psu's and many times they take to mobo with them.

should i replace the MB or the P4

yeah high i have this emachine t5036 and it has a problem where when you turn it on everything works except cpu fan spins for 2 seconds then stops and dosent boot the bios or anything. i did some reading and pulled the ram card out and when i did that everything was spinning and working fine and gave me the beeping noise letting me know that the ram wasnt present. so i went about buying 2 new ram cards and when i installed same things going on. im pretty sure the CPU works cuz when i fire the computer up within 2 seconds the CPU heats up. made sure i shut it down right away too. so do you think my motherboard is fried? as well the PSU is brand new and has the 4 pin connector attached to the MB. did the bios reset too with the battery and the pin. any ideas guys? because the only thing i can think of now is the MB is hooped
