Absolutely right! Those MSI boards eat up power like nobody's business. As far as the PS/2 ports; unfortunately, that's a normal thing. The K8N Neo series has been plagued with this problem from the beginning. When you switched to the USB keyboard and mouse, did you go into the BIOS and enable USB keyboard and mouse support?

    IMHO, probably not.

I edited my posting and forgot to keep that info. Please list your max amps for the 12 volt rail. This info is listed on sticker on PSU itself. What is the brand of PSU as well.

Those boards use mainly 12 volt with exception of RAM (3.3). The CPU and mainboard will eat up 12 amps @ 12 volt rail by themselves. That is before fans, peripherals etc, etc.

    I feel your pain.
I bought a Biostar board from Newegg and had to return 2 of them, finally the 3rd one worked ok. I was majorly ...... ! Cost me about $15 in shipping fees + nearly a months time to get my new box going.

http://forum.msi.com.tw/index.php Go there, they can help.

Try reversing the ports. Plug the keyboard into the mouse port and vice versa. I have heard of this working.

I have had problems with MSI boards, on multiple occasions. I suggest you contact them via phone if possible and let them know whats going on.

did you RMA through MSI or Newegg?
I've had to RMA through newegg before, and it was very fast and the replacement worked great.

I've had a MSI vid card, and currenlty have a MSI mobo and couldn't be happier

    I HATE MSI

Ok, so i buy a MSI K8N Neo2 mobo from newegg. Build the system and all, but the PS/2 ports wont work. I was just like its fine ill RMA it. It takes them over a MONTH to RMA it, and when it comes back (a whole new board), THE PS/2 STILL DOESNT WORK!!!!

What should i do? Is there anything i should do to try to fix it or should i contact MSI and try to get another one?

Im so confused... thanks for the help
