Strange that games would run fine, cause this is what we used to call a vga fail @ work.

It's probably some ram chips on your videocard that have gone bad.

Ok atm ive got the card running on a rail all by itself, Maybe that rail has gone or something so I will try and use a different rail to see if it corrects the issue.

This issue formed when I switched case, I dont see how anything could of got damaged though, I used an anti static wrist strap all the way through the case change and nothing got chipped, dropped or anything.

Ok so I will change the rail to see if that works, Other than that im stumped!

Edit: Ok I changed the graphics card onto to a different PSU rail but it didnt make any difference. Anyways here is some pics, Once it goes passed the xp loading screen the screen goes black with lines all over it then about 20 secs later it reboots.

    Pics

Sorry about the quality, They are from my phone

So when I boot up I get all lines all over the screen, It gets as far as loading windows and just about to go onto the login screen then it all goes dark, Pitch black!
How do you play games and such if the screen is black?

@Atomic Rooster: Yea thats what I thought but it runs games, Benchmarks and everything else fine! Temps are fine too.

@doddsy: I done that last time this happened, Didnt make any difference.

Could it be the mobo thats the problem?

    GREAT! :(

Ok well im getting lines all over the screen on my other PC during boot, I cant even get into windows ffs!

Ok well ive had this problem before and I thought it sorted itself out, But by the looks of things it aint! Ok so I shut off my PC as I wanted to switch from a DVI cable to Anologe (sp?), I switch the cable and powered up, I had all crappy lines all over the screen again! So I switched back to DVI and the same thing happened, Lines all over the damn place. So I got this old CRT screen from my room and set it up to test to see if its my screen or not, Anyways the same thing! All lines all over the place. So it CANT be the screen! So when I boot up I get all lines all over the screen, It gets as far as loading windows and just about to go onto the login screen then it all goes dark, Pitch black! Also just want to point out something, This problem started BEFORE I overclocked my graphics card, So the overclock has nothing to do with it.

I have no idea what the problem is, I can run game sand everything fine! I dont know if its the graphics card, the mobo ect ect......
