The XP 2200+ is a 0.13 chip, and only a 0.13 chip. All the rest of the XPs are 0.18 until about late this month early September when they will release all XPs as 0.13and do away with 0.18. However, the architecture has nothing to do with the multiplier, they are all still locked.

The only AMD chip not multiplier locked is the MP line.

they r switching from the 0.18 core to a 0.13 core xcru.. I believe it is the 2200+ that is suppose to be one of the ones getting the new core as well.. so ther eill be 0.18, and 0.13 versions of the 2200+ chip..

    I thought that the 2200+ was a 0.13 core

This unlocking kit costs $21.95 but i`m sure you can find better deals .. around $10 maybe ..

Here are some reviews that should help when you attempt to unlock the chip:

BTW, i do not recommend that you do so, i would go for a mild FSB OCing rather than messing with that very tiny bridge .. the XP2200+ is about the MAX power that AMD was able to get out of the older u0.18 core .. so multiplier OCing might be very limited (if at all), IMO ...

    Unlock XP 2200+

    Howdy all,

From what I have found, I can unlock my Athlon XP+ by connecting the the 5th bridge of L2. This is cool, but what should I use? I would prefer something a bit more permanent than a pencil. All inputs and an approximate price would be appreciated!
