I couldn't personally recommend that one as it only has 128 bit memory. You need to look for one with 256bit memory to get the best deal possible. (and I don't mean a 256mb card)

Have u guys forgotten about the 9700 Pro??? DX9 and performance just slightly less than 9800 Pro - you can get hold of one for about 80 (UK), 9800 Pro's more expensive here

+who sais you can't OC it to 9800 Pro

I know they stopped making them, i was just posting a link to where he can still get one if he wanted one.

ANyways, if he doesn't want to deal with modding a 9800SE(ANd not all 9800SE work) then a 9700Pro would be a better deal.

Newegg has a great refurbish program, a lot of people here buy a lot of stuff from newegg refurbished and never had a problem.

Very true... I think that about 70% max of the 9800SE's can be turned into somethin close to a 9800PRO, all others just preform like a 9600xt which is still not bad!

so even though i don't mod the 9800se (for example a gecube one) will still be better than a standard 9600xt?providing that 9800se is a 256bit?

yup, absolutely and you can still overclock it if the mod doesn't work!
