    nVidia GeForce 7600/7900 AGP

    I currently have the following apparatus:

    * Intel 848P Chipset
    * AGP 8X Slot
    * Hanns-G HW192D Monitor connected via VGA
    * nVidia GeForce FX 5200 VGA 128MB
    * Asus P4P800S Motherboard
    * 1GB PC3200 DDR RAM
    * Turtle Beach Rivera Audio Card
    * Motorola PCI 802.11g Wi-Fi Card

    I was considering moving to one of these video cards
    * nVidia GeForce 7600GS AGP8X 256MB
    * nVidia GeForce 7600GS AGP8X 512MB
    * nVidia GeForce 7900GS AGP8X 256MB
    * nVidia GeForce 7900GS AGP8X 512MB

    Reason for upgrading the video card: LCD Display (obvious), DVD Movies are choppy with the GeForce FX 5200 Video Card, prefer to connect via DVI instead of AGP. I usually play Need For Speed Most Wanted (animation is choppy with GeForce FX 5200).

    Do you think the Intel 848P Chipset would support any of these GeForce video cards? I believe that the motherboard I have supports up to 2GB PC3200.

    Please advise. Thanks.

    I'm running the same CPU om the same chipset and i'm using an x800pro. I would suggest going with a 7600gs (preferably a 7600gt if you want better performance in game)

    And the 848p chipset does supports up to 2gb pc3200, alas, only in single channel.

    What psu is in the rig?
