    Enable/Disable RAID

Purchased a used laptop which performs fine. Went to install Ghost 2003 and was told no could do while RAID was enabled. Questions - (1) why would RAID be enabled on a laptop and (2) how do I disable same? Thanks.

    galehicky,

Firstly wat O/S are you running?

With regards to the laptop having RAID enabled, thats a mystery unto itself.

If you are running windows xp, chances are that the enabled raid could just be your hard disks converted from basic to dynamic, ready to provide RAID functions at levels 0 and 1 (Disk Mirroring and stripping). Try to see if u can reconvert them back to basic (through disk management) and if no good, have a look through BIOS for options related to a RAID controlling.

    Hope this helps champ!

    Kaneo
