I use a white activity LED to go along with the blue PWR LED in mine. I personally didn't ike the way the red looked with the blue in mine.

Red doesn't look nice IMO. I would place a same blue one. You would see the differance because the powerLED is always on and the IDE-LED is either out or flashing during activity.
However I like BigBlue suggestion too.
Succes.

BTW I changed the keyboard LEDs to blue too. Looks really cool!!

I like the red Call me crazy. I just had to put the blue in a sleeve so that it would not interfere with the red and make it a nice purple. That blue is really nice. I used a 3.7V high output, and it is bright, like 1.19 at radioshack for 2 of them.

I'm installing a blue power LED and red IDE HD activity light (and hopefully a red LED for SCSI HD light in the summer when I have time). Gotta use 3mm LEDs because it's easier to install them in my case. What's so wrong with this combination?? I'm just curious, as I can easily change it.

Next up is Blue for my FF MS Wheel.. .. oh yeah.. and in the background you'll hear.. "Keepin' on rockin' in the free world... "
i dunno .. maybe red.. nah.. blue for the wheel.. red for the HDD cuz that's what color the use to be then they decided that it was too confusing of a color cuz ppl thought it meant something was wrong w/ their puter.. funny eh..
