upgrading laptop harddrive,CPU, graphics etc

hi im a bit of a rookie, im just really after an indication of how complex it is to change the major hardware components in a laptop.

Upgrading RAM and HDD isnt really difficult. Most OEMs have access covers to allow you to upgrade them.

Upgrading the CPU on the other hand, requires disassembling your computer, and you cant really buy a mobile socket CPU at a retail store.

well im currently looking for a laptop, and was toying with the idea of buying a cheap one, and then upgrading it, hence getting better performance for less money, however iv not looked to deeply into this, so im not really sure of the pheasability of this. one which has caught my eye was the advent 7096, which seems to have better stats than laptops of a similar pricerange; my budget is about 600 GBP absolute maximum!, which i realise is fairly cheap anyway.
