    My Slightly Modded PC

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 5200+ X2 Dual Core.
    Cooler: Zalman CNPS 9500.
RAM: Now 2Gb DDR2 Dual channel.
    HDD: 80 Gb Seagate Barracuda.
    GPU: Saphire ATI X1600 Pro.
    Main Board: Gigabyte M55Plus S3G.

A few shots in the dark...

There are a few more things to do,

    1. A pair of Seagate Barracuda ES's.
    2. A new modular PSU.
    3. More fans and lights.

    Ooh. Shiney.

Not really my taste, but nicely done nonetheless. What's that red light at the bottom of the pic?

    Oh. Heh.

Couldn't really tell at first that it wasn't part of the tower.

Now get to work filling up all those empty SATA ports. You don't want them to go unloved now, do you?

    not too bad at all

what case is that btw? it looks like a lian li of some sort i'm guessing, but psu at the top could mean otherwise....

also, the cable management is very good, and it would look even better if the sleeving was uv.

i really need some better sleeving for my current build, but new mobo and ram first...

    Talking

Thanks for the nice comments guys keep em comming

This pic was taken before the new CPU and Cooler, but the keyboard and joystick are the same, both by Saitek. I have also addded a bit of mesh to the front of the case.

The case is a cheapo Icute thingy, and so is the 400W PSU (came with the case).

I'll get a Cold Cathod kit with a UV light bar along the side from top to bottom at the front, a green bar along the top, and a blue bar along the bottom.

But first things first. I need a new DVD RW as mine fell apart yesterday

, a nice new modular PSU, and the winning lottery ticket !!

Ehh..careful with the modular psu's. It's been a while but last I knew there weren't really any good ones! Don't want to fry your pc for a modular psu, well, unless you're rich. lol. From the winning lottery ticket comment I'll assume that's not the case. Otherwise, that's a lovely looking case right there. Nice rig as well!

I'm going for this one, It seems quite good with good reviews and its reasonably cheap (within my budget anyway...)

    http://www.msquared.co.uk/detail.asp...lies&fldr=mnu3

Not only will it make the cable management easier and better looking, it will give me more scope for future mods and water cooling. - Still not sure about that with regards to condensation issues, and the fact that water and PC's don’t really mix. - I am planning a new case too - hand built from my own design using some items (not going to tell you what they are yet!!) I found. - The modular PSU will be absolutely necessary.

I ordered a new case today as my case is looking a bit worse for wear (the plexi is scratched and so is the paint) plus I want to completely start from scratch with my case modding ideas. I will be keeping the old case for new ideas, maybe a build for a mates PC.

    The new home!!

In preperation for the new case, I bought this little lot...

A CCFL kit one blue, one UV.
    A 120mm blue LED fan.
A blue 3 light LED block.

The CCFL kit comes with a switch mounted onto a PCI bracket. Nice touch.

With all the other fans in my old case I will make drive coolers and a nice brighter PCI slot cooler.
I had to buy a new DVD +- RW RAM drive from LG, as my existing one fell apart. (As I took out my fave game DVD the wadding got stuck to it!!)

    Fiddle sticks!

Still waiting for the case, and getting impatient.
I have changed the 120mm fan for a 120mm LED fan, and tomorrow I’ll buy an 80mm LED fan for the rear of the PSU.

I haven’t even started the thing up yet, and I’ve already modded it!!

I have completed the transfer to my new case. Everything went easier than expected, and the beast started up first time. I had all the tools lined up after I had removed all the kit from the old case, and found that the only tool I needed was some small wire cutters for the cable ties.
All I need to do is sort out my cable managment, build a new PCI slot cooler, and a few drive coolers with the spare fans I have.
I'll take some shots of it tonight when it gets dark.
Just one more thing, THIS CASE IS HUGE!
A380 Twin Engine: 54cm-21.5cm (not including the front fan cowling's 26cm at the widest point).
    Icute gamers: 45.5cm-20cm.

    All finnished (for now...)

I also bought a new monitor today, it’s a Samsung Sync Master 226BW 22” LCD monitor. It has a maximum resolution of 1680 x 1050, and a refresh rate of 2ms. It has already changed my gaming!!

Here’s a few pics of the monitor and rig, all glowing in the dark!!

You may have noticed that there’s not much glow coming from the Zalman CPU cooler. This is because there is so much cold air getting into the case and taking heat away from the cooler, the Zalman’s fan doesn’t need to spin up as fast.

I still need to do some serious cable management, and there are a few more items I would like to buy and fit before I change anything. I have a few Ideas for the front panel door and the false ducting on the side, but that will come later.
