| case with a really big fan
i got a case from www.xoxide.com and it has a really big fan on the side along with 1 in the front...which will make it a power guzzler..and dunno what type of Power Supply to get for it.... heres the link to the Case http://www.xoxide.com/aerocool-extre...-3t-black.html
(didnt know where to post about this but since it does with a case i put it in case modifications) |

What's the rest of the hardware for the system?
Give us that info, we can make a better recommendation. |

Is it just me or does that just look silly? I'd be worried for my children's and pet's safety with that thing around!
The site doesn't seem to say how much power that thing draws... |

That case wont effect what PSU you buy...
Just make a good choice for the specs of your system...
If your not sure, refer to the sticky... |

The site doesn't seem to say how much power that thing draws... | most of the cases that include these 250mm fans, the fan usually only runs 600-800 RPM max. not all that fast, compared to smaller 120, 92, 80, 60mm etc fans.
besides, also notice the grill on the side, not like its an open exposed fan or anything.
as to the original poster, that case is not going to make your system a power guzzler. with one low RPM large fan on side, & 1 or 2 smaller moderate RPM fans in front & back.
crap, my case probably has more "power guzzling" than that thing, 2x 120mm front & rear, 2x 92mm top & rear, 60mm on chipset, CPU fan, 120mm PSU fan, & GPU fan. I do have to option of ordering the upgraded side panel with a 600RPM 250mm as well, should I want to do that too http://www.xoxide.com/thermaltake-armor-case-black.html
the real power guzzling comes down to the components you pick for the actual system itself, CPU, Mobo, GPU, number of Drives, etc. |

It doesn't draw much power; we have a very similar case here at the store (we love it!)... it sits in the window and draws in nerds who like big fans It does a great job cooling, although a case with proper airflow layouts inside will be more efficient. |

I can only imagine the conversation that had to take place somewhere in China.
Employee 1: So, do you have any ideas for a new case? I'm kind of tapped out.
Employee 2: Well, the Americans seem to like big fans. Why don't we make a case with big fans?
Employee 1: We already make cases with 120mm fans.
Employee 2: Ok, so what if we made it with a gigantic fan? Like, 250mm?
Employee 1: Sounds retarded.
Employee 2: I agree, but so is half the stuff we make, and people still buy it.
Employee 1: Fine, let's do it. |
