I've been trying to find a red LED clock, 12v to hook into my machines PSU. So far I've tried automotive stores and searched online. Seems the trend to go to batteries for everything has eliminated the automotive 12v LED clock.
I want to place it in my empty floppy bay.
It doesn't have to fit the hole exactly. Just smaller. Anyone know where I could get such an animal?
Thanks and Cheers!

Radio Shack used to sell them... I looked on their site - no luck...
One other thing to keep in mind, if you can find an AC powered unit with a display that will fit (and it's cheap enough that you don't mind losing the warranty), check the part number of the bridge rectifier, and voltage regulators in it.
I have a VU meter that was AC powered, but the bridge rectifier and voltage regulators dropped the voltage from AC 120 to DC 13. I just popped a couple wires in PAST the bridge/regulators, cut the AC cord out, and use it in my old car. You might be able to do the same thing with a clock and just drop the shell and mount the display in the 3½ face plate.
GL!

LED = Light Eluminated Display
Like an alarm clock with red numbers. The numbers are actually light bars.
Cheers! |

Well guys. Who wants to help me out with creating the clock on my computer? I have an alarm clock opened up with just the right size of workings. This electronics stuff is all greek to me so I will need to get some help. I have a digital camera at my beckon call and I can produce high quality images of what I have. If someone is good at this stuff, I would like to carry on with this here on this thread if possible as someone else might want to attemp this as well. Could it be a project thread?
Cheers! |

Now I need to know how to convert to 12v.
