Well 32bit doesnt support 4 gig of ram its max is 3 gig but its more compatible with programs were as 64bit supports 4gig of ram but you may have compatibility problems with some things. |

A 64-bit OS will support 4 gigs of RAM, whereas a 32-bit OS can address less than 4 GB of RAM. Vista 64 bit is ok, it's rather a resource hog, but with your system, it shouldn't be too much of an issue. |

You proly dont need ANYWHERE near 4GB on XP. So it doesnt really matter if you get the 32-bit OS.
Im a fan of Vista. I'd say to go for it with your build. |

Like mentioned above, you will get less than 4 GB of RAM to actually use. Currently, I'm using about 3.6 GB of RAM on Vista's 32-bit OS. Thought I'd let you know a little more specifically what you might expect in terms of RAM from the 32-bit.

Although Vista has it's downside, I would go for it also. I was a vista hater myself, but I've made the switch and I'm pretty happy with it.
Once UAC is under control, Vista is a decent OS.
My vote is for Vista 64bit. If you just had 2gigs of RAM, I'd still say Vista, but 32bit.
You can't really compare a laptop to a Quad Core Desktop. There is a big difference.. |

It should have been better, but it is ok. |
