oh also, for whoever said that it wouldn't keep it cool because air is going out to fast...wouldnt i want constant airflow going past to keep it cool, not sit there and get warm? Isnt that why theres a windshield temp with weather and its always lower than the actual temp? But i did JUST notice, i could swap places with my cd drive bay and my hdd bay and maybe beable to get satas to fit if i put the hd's at the bottom of the bay.

Wind Chill.

I dont like the look of your case and i think its overly flashy. The design might be good for some mobo's but thats the problem with these designs, they use one generic reference for where your CPU and potentially to the video card for side panel fans. I have yet to see any line up exactly the way it should be.

The problem with excessive airflow is that:
1) the most obvious problem is your going to have to clean the grills and interior from dust far more often then i care to clean my system.
2) the idea is to channel air to cool all parts of your case, with this open front, your not directing air in any fashion. This limits the cooling on your HD's and makes the cooling potential of your air in general far less.
3) the amounts of air your intaking and in turn exhausting means you can not put this in a limited space area. You effectively have made it only usable on a table without any restrictions for about a foot in any direction but down.

There is a point where pushing more air does nothing because it doesnt sit long enough over a heat source to actually cool anything.

is this what your thinking, or you know for sure? because to me, it doesnt make any sense at all. it sounds like your saying i might as well have pulsating fan that turns on every ** amount of seconds so air can "sit" in my case to cool. and with my open front, do you mean my front fan intake? with the air coming from that and my side fan it is lifting and cooling all parts of my case/mobo/hardware. so i am reallllllly confused. any sources on your explanation?

Yes, heat is not an instant transfer from your copper/aluminum heat sink to air. Think about it, does a stove instantly become heated when you turn it on? No, it takes time for the heat to run through the coil of a standard stove. Heat transfer on direct contact of two metallic objects is the best but air really isnt so good at it. Thus water cooling with an active but slow water pump and a radiator to actually cool the water.

Sources?! Uhhh, my name is nemo not google. I dont do other peoples homework. You can look into the airflow diagrams available though. The idea is that air comes in from the front and exhausts to the back. If you put this in an enclosed space with the places your pulling and exhausting, its going to loop. Pushing hot air out the side so it can then be pulled back in through all venting does nothing but cook your system. I cant give you the years of my building computers as a http link. Nor can i link you the couple of articles i wrote for maximum pc because i doubt they were posted online and its from like five years ago now.

I will point out that although no one has mentioned the thermodynamics of your case, its sound in principle but depending on where your case is going to end up and how the side case fans line up with your GPU/CPU ... they can be pointless other then for shiny lights and added workload on your PSU.

EDIT: This should be a good starting point. Enjoy.

I buy them because they keep my system cool and they make it flashy all at the same time.

As soon as I figure out how to put a pic on here I'll post my case. It wouldn't get a 10, but at least I'm proud to say that I made it look fairly good.

Those guides only tell me basics. nothing your talking about. i already know about matching cfms up for balanced air flow. What i didnt understand is your "air needs to sit" saying. i understand how the heatsink works also, but are you trying to say i dont want a fan on my cpu heatsink because i want heat to transfer through the heatsink before it is blown away by the fans?

You know what ... its really pointless to discuss without showing you so im not going to try anymore. Just make sure you dont keep this thing in a corner and good luck keeping the dust out.
