might as well just get 2 DVD burners, the price difference is so little when spending so much, might as well grab 2.
(I prefer two different brand/models, just in case some games software doesn't cope well with one drive, might work on 2nd, referring to the games copy protection software they have on the discs these days, have ran into this problem before, with a Samsung drive not reading it right, and the LG drive picked it up fine.)
also the Corsair 750TX Model PSU is also good enough too, (the one I'm using for my build as well, buying the video card to finish my parts list tomorrow) Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply - Power Supplies
on the video card, GTX 275, Newegg.com - EVGA 896-P3-1173-AR GeForce GTX 275 FTW Edition 896MB 448-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards faster clocked than the 285, for $50 cheaper, also only difference is the 448-bit Memory Bus vs the 285's 512.
between ditching the sound card, grabbing the 750TX and the GTX 275, you almost save enough to grab a 2nd 275 if you wanted to.

thats what I was saying, the 750TX is what I'm using. later this week I'll be prepping to swap my current Quad's systems parts out and install my Core i7 parts, using the 750TX it'll handle it with room to spare.
I have the i7 920, 3GB DDR3-1333 Crucial Value kit (3x 1GB), MSI X58 Platinum, and just bought a Radeon 4870 1GB last night for cheap on Newegg, to run with my spare 4830 512MB I have here in crossfire. will also be using my HT Omega 7.1 Striker sound card in there, running at least 4 hard drives & 2 Optical drives, and possibly one or two other devices (TV tuner card, etc), maybe a 2nd 3GB kit.
the 750 is running a single 60amp +12v rail (10 less than the 850), more than enough for a single GTX 295, or Radeon 4870x2, or 2 4890's or 275's. unless your planning on running 3 high end cards in Crossfire or SLI, the 750TX will handle it. even throwing in a cheaper lower end card like a 9500GT in the 3rd slot for dedicated PhysX processing in a SLI setup, the PSU will handle it.
video cards and overclocking aside, an i7 system will run on a quality 400-500W PSU alone, easily.
but in the end its your choice, just pointing out that the 750 for less will handle it with room to spare. |

no problem.
my old 700W OCZ GameXStream was also powerful enough too, but since it only had 2x 6 Pin PCI-E connectors, and I wanted one with at least 2 of those plus 2x 6+2 or 8 Pin PCIE connectors (750TX has 4x 6+2 pins), I went with the 750TX for my new unit, in case I ran a couple of cards that required 2x 6 pins each (like my current temp card, the regular 9800GTX) or 1x 6 pin & 1x 8 pin, I could throw in 2 cards be it SLI or Crossfire. |

I second the 750W PSU being able to handle your system. I build loads of computers, and from experience I can tell you that even a 500W PSU will be able to keep your system happy.

Your case will keep you computer nice and cool. I like the idea of the foldout motherboard tray, its perfect for people that are in their computer a lot. |
