First of, 530 *s* = slimline
Has anyone tried gutting a (0RY007 motherboard) And dell components to a bigger (mid tower lets say) Case?
I have read of it here. New case & PSU for Dell 530s - DELL COMMUNITY
Also, someone else on another forum said that the Inspiron 530s had a removable Motherboard try and they screwed that into a new case. (Which I think was from this forum, tried to PM him however he last logged in last year - 2nd month, doubt I'll get a reply)
Someone else I read about also did the new case and re screwed the mobo in, however, That person didn't go into detail on 'how'.
I want to use this case. Cooler Master Elite 330 - Mid tower case
Anyone know how it's possible?
Also, 2nd issue.
Does using a non DELL PSU screw up(Fry / blow up) the Dell Motherboard?
Thanks |

Dell has been using standard PSUs for years, as well as standard motherboard configurations. Moving to another case shouldn't be difficult for the motherboard, but the other case connections (card reader, USB ports, etc.) will not be as easy.
BTW, the 530s and 530 motherboards are the same. Only the case is different. |

Honestly, you'd be better off getting a motherboard for the case you want and move everything over. Then sell the empty 530s case/motherboard on Ebay. |
