Looks like the only 140mm fans that you can use are for the top blow-hole.

As been pointed out before, the Cooler Master NV 690 supports only 2x 140mm fans that can be located at the top of the case. The remainder of the fans are all 120mm.

I'm pretty sure the bottom fan hole can support a 140mm fan (or 14cm)
When I had my 120mm fan in the bottom of mine, it had 4 larger screw holes besides the 120mm mounts.
That said, you should just get 120mm fans. There is hardly any difference between the 2. There are far more options in the 120mm field then the 140mm field. And they are cheaper too.

The regular 690 can support a good number of 140mm and most locations can accept 120s instead. The diagram of the NV version should help. Not sure which are the good 140s., but I think there is at least one version by Yate Loon out there now. The idea is that you can get more air at the same or lower noise by using the 140s.

Are you getting the Xtreme version of that Rad, or just the normal version?
If the xtreme, you want some high cfm fans, that is what that rad is designed for. I would go with no less then 70-80 cfm fans.
WaterCooling UK: Xigmatek 120mm XLF-F1253 1500RPM - White LED
WaterCooling UK: Yate Loon 120mm D12SH-12 - 2200 RPM
If it's just the normal version, you could get by with 40-60 cfm fans.
WaterCooling UK: Yate Loon 120mm D12SL-12 - 1350 RPM
WaterCooling UK: Yate Loon 120mm D12SL-12 LED Green - 1350 RPM

just out of curiousity don't all rads come with fans?
-
May 4th, 2009, 10:39 PM #15
No. The only rads that come with fans are Thermalcrap systems.

my budget is £40 but the rad has to be very thin. i found another black ice and its the normal one WaterCooling UK: Black Ice GT Stealth 240 Radiator.
also the fans have to be 20mm thick.

the best performing "skinny" rad is the swiftech QP series. Look for one of those, they do especially well under low/med speed fans.
But I would not recommend 20mm thick fans. They don't give out a lot of air pressure, which is what you want on rads.
And I know for a fact that a swiftech QP series and 25mm thick fans will fit in the top of the 690 case. Let me dig up a pic..

^that is what i was planning to do but for 25cm fans to fit there i would have to do some adjustments. the easiest way for me to do it would be to buy 20mm thick fans.
edit
the thickness of the swiftech QP is 34mm while the black stealth is only 29mmLast edited by j.woody; May 5th, 2009 at 03:19 PM.

I would argue that I'd rather have a more competitive corporate tax rate in exchange for a more progressive personal income tax with many more brackets to more evenly spread the onus. Businesses do...
