    Case lighting

Im looking for something along the lines of Blue LED lights or tube lights that will light up the inside of my computer. I have the antec 300 case and i was thinking about putting a 12 in tube along the top but it seems the big fan on the top of the case would interfere with the mounting of that light. Any help or ideas of what to do please let me know!

    Thanks

    Here's a small one only 4"
4in Dual Blue Cold Cathode Kit at Xoxide!

These are nice, I have 2 sets.
12in Dual Blue Cold Cathode Kit at Xoxide!

Here is a cool looking one, like liquid inside.
12in Liquid Neon Cathode Light (Blue) at Xoxide!

They also have the sound modules.
Why not think about another color, blue and red do look good together.

Don't waste your money on the multi color LED modules from this site, they are cheap and crappy.

Yea personally I'd just switch out the stock fans for ones with LED's if that's the look your going for. That would be the easiest way, and probably be pretty cheap also.

lol karma those are the exact fans i already have for the front two intake fans. Maybe ill just replace the rest with them. Only thing is the top fan is a 140mm fan, i cant seem to find the same type of led fan in that size. Today im going to also add some plexi glass siding and mayb mod the top of the case too. Ill post pics to show how it goes. (If i can find my digital camera ....lol)

Also with the tubing lights i cant really visualize how they are going to fit. 12 inches might be a little hard to fit and that especially depends on the width of the lights too. And for the 4 inch ones will they provide adequate lighting so with the plexi glass on the inside it illuminates everything well ?

Thanks for the options guys keep em coming if you have any better ideas!

I would use the UV CCFL's and find a nice Theme color combo...
here are some links to some nice products...

These are the fans I put in the front of my Antec 900, I like the fact that they are quiet, cheap, and have the LEDS positioned near the center and pointing out for maximum flash...
Thats IF your not doing all UV...

Thanks for the links of stuff JP. My case looks pretty much like that one right now after i just plexi glassed the side door today. The only thing i dont have is the 12in light but i just ordered two of those today. I was also thinking of maybe painting the inside of the case a reflective mirror paint (think that would be cool?).

Also i was wondering if there was an easy way to take the top of the case off i was going to plexi glass a little bit of that too, but it seems to be pretty much tied down and not removable without really getting into it. Once again its an antec 300 case so if anyone has any experience doing that please let me know.

My experience with paint like that is, even if you take the most precautions, and do it right. It till scratches and rubs off easy. I would not recommend chrome paint.

You know it's funny, most people paint the inside of their case to look like yours comes stock.
Honestly, spray paint is not the best option. Where the door slides on, it's scratch the paint off. If you "knick" it anywhere with a screwdriver, it'll leave a mark. I know this cuz I've tried it a couple of times.
If you want the best possible look, check into powder coating. It can normally be done for $50- $70 depending on the local retailer, and it gives a very sturdy and professional look.
That's just my two. I've painted 2 cases now, and both ended up not looking so good after a couple weeks. :\

I dont really mess around within the case much even if i get a high quality chrome paint you still think it will scratch alot ? Are you just saying that about chrome paint or all types of paint ?

Actually I would go with a 400 watt metal halide fixture....

Always go for brightness. Brilliant white light has it own special feature.

Ummmm, I think I have always avoided loading my PS with nonsense, no matter how small the draw.

But Wolfegang16, Buy your own LEDs from Radio Shack, configure them the exact way you want for your case.

I'm not quite done with mine yet. but its getting there. Here's the thread I have pics in. Wanna see what I did?

The only reason I haven't updated on that thread is cause I'm at a lose as to what to do with the front panel. I really don't like the way it looks.

where can i get some cool case badges at a good price ?

Also ive seen some pretty cool LCD fan and temp display screens at pretty cheap prices. I have only one 5.25 bay open right now so the screen i get could not take up more than that amount of room. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas in mind for that type of a product ?
