prossessor upgrade..

Hi i have a compaq presario 7000 model 7120us and i was wondering how would i upgrade my prossesor i currently have a p4 but i wat to look for something better what would i need/ change? and how? thank you so very much!

EDIT: i would also like to know how much memory can i put in this and what kind ? thank you

Maximum Memory: 1024MB
Slots: 4 (2 banks of 2)
Standard Memory: 128MB removable

I'd guess you have a pretty old pc and...If it really has a P4, it probably wouldn't be worth the effort or money tp upgrade the cpu.

Well to my knowledge a cpu upgrade for any laptop is gonna cost a lot. The cheaper method of upgrading is to buy a new laptop. Anyway I can't find any cpu's that would work.

LOL CK I think you've done this before, but what he has is a desktop not a laptop Compaq Presario Desktop PC 7120US

I can't find the specs list on the hp/compaq site but I believe that thing uses RAMBUS memory and if that's the case then even adding more memory would be expensive.

Your right I have done that before. I really got to start researching those compaqs. I hardly ever see a desktop compaq so I just made an assumption.
