Take a look at this RAM, a little faster and same price, $20 cheaper after rebate. Newegg.com - OCZ Flex II 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1150 (PC2 9200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2FXT11504GK - Desktop Memory
The video cards you picked reccomend a 450W power supply. With the one you picked ( 400W ), you'll be very close but may work. I would go with a slightly bigger one though. What ever video card you go with will dictate how big of a ps you need. Just stick with a good quality one.
Same price after rebate, and modular. + 4GB USB flash drive. Newegg.com - OCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ500MXSP 500W ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply compatible with core i7 - Power Supplies
Deal of the day, $49.99-$20 rebate. Newegg.com - OCZ StealthXStream OCZ500SXS 500W ATX12V / EPS12V Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies
Mouse/Keyboard is personal choice, but for gaming that mouse will be lacking and leave you frustrated. I have all of these, they work great on any surface ( no mousepad ). Any one will be great. Newegg.com - Computer Hardware,Input Devices,Mouse,OCZ Technology
Any of these will work for a keyboard, this is personal preferance. It all depends on how much you plan on typing. Newegg.com - Computer Hardware,Microsoft,Keyboards
Monitor looks great, I have the 23" versions and they are nice.
The hard drive is a good one. You can always get another if you run out of room. The 1TB one is only $30 more though.
DVD, ok.
For the case, I really don't like the Acrylic ones, break too easy and you can see a messy wire job too easy. If you get it, you better take the time and effort to do great wire management or you'll piss yourself off looking at it. I just bought 2 CoolerMaster HAF-922 cases, love them. Got them from onsale.com for $95 each. http://www.onsale.com/p/Coolermaster-Drive-Cases/product~dpno~7832195~pdp.ffcgicb
If you need a bigger case try the HAF-932 http://www.onsale.com/p/Coolermaster-Drive-Cases/product~dpno~7721352~pdp.fcdecbi
Newegg has these but more $.
I don't know too much about AMD for the mobo and processor or ATI for the Video cards. Some one else will have to help here.
You need anymore help, let us know.

as I tried to hint above, the 4770 will blow away the 9500GT they were considering.
honestly for the pricing of those cards I'd look into one of the new Geforce GT 220 cards, sort of fall into place above the 9500GT and below the 9600GT. but for a price between those cards where the current 9600 GSO lands (specs are are also similar to the revised GSO cards as well, but different GPU, 48 stream processors etc)
or look at one of the newer Radeon 5770 or 5750 cards that replace the 4770. initially from what I read they aren't THAT much better than the current 4770, but with DirectX 11 support and similar price range for the lower 5750 with better specs than the 4770, should be a decent deal.
the 500W ModXStream JJ posted above, it'll handle any of those cards listed so far. I'm running one with a Geforce 9800GTX on it and its still got some room/power to spare if I wanted.
can also check out Coolermaster's Store, for Refurbished cases, their like new and usually cost less than other places like newegg, though after factoring in shipping sometimes, comes out the same as newegg's pricing before shipping, either way still cheaper. - CM Store - CM Store
though looks like JJ got a better deal on the cases than even on the CM Store

Okay, The 5750 is basicly the same as the 4770 performance wise.... (just slightly ahead)... the 5750 also supports DX11. The 5770 is a large jump in performance from the 5750 (about 20-30% depending on bench and settings).... |

5770 is spec'd similar to a 4850 or 4870, but with 128 bit bus (all 3 have 800 Stream Processors).
thing is for the price of the 5770, you can nab a 4870 for cheap with a full 256 bus, though runs hotter and most likely more power, but greater performance.
the 5750 has a boost in Stream Processors (80 more to 720 from 640), but slower clock speeds on Core and Memory than the 4770 has.
in any case, the OCZ 400W or 500W Power supplies linked to will be able to handle at least one of any of these cards mentioned.
the Geforce GT 220 they linked to is a good budget gaming card, but should perform less than any of the Radeons we've mentioned. |
