GT 220 is up to date, aside from DirectX 11 (does not support DX 11), but its not as powerful as the Radeons mentioned. there's a reason I said "perform less than..."
cheaper way, not really, for the price of a 5770 you could get a 4870 which would still be more powerful. Newegg.com - Computer Hardware,Video Cards & Video Devices,Desktop Graphics / Video Cards,Radeon HD 4000 series,Radeon HD 4870
even the faster clocked Radeon 4890's (faster clocked 4870's) would be at the upper end of the 5770's price range and be more powerful Newegg.com - Computer Hardware,Video Cards & Video Devices,Desktop Graphics / Video Cards,Radeon HD 4000 series,Radeon HD 4890
or even one of the Geforce GTX 260's would be comparable to the 4870 Newegg.com - Computer Hardware,Video Cards & Video Devices,Desktop Graphics / Video Cards,GeForce GTX 200 Series,GeForce GTX 260
none of those are DirectX 11, but they are DirectX 10, and still few games out that are DirectX 10, more than there was a year ago, but still not as many as there should be. Will probably a year or two before we see a noticeable amount of DirectX 11 games out.
Back to the GT 220, the one you selected is one of the more expensive ones, which isn't good, its in the price range of a Geforce 9600GT and 9800GT (the 9800 is more than twice the power of the GT 220, 9600GT has 50% more Stream processors and thus more powerful than the GT 220 as well)

Couldn't I update the drivers or something? |
