    upgrading my computer for games

Hey, im trying to upgrade my old computer to be able to run newer games like direct x 10 games at least and wondering what i should do with my motherboard whether to get a new one or if i can just get a processor and graphics card if needed.
    My motherboard is:
Connolly e187242 f2 with one 3 and a half inch PCI slot and 2 other 3 inch slots and a weird one with like 3 knobs, sorry i dont know the exact names of the slots.

    My processor is:
intel 04 Pentium 4 531 sl8hz 3.00ghz/1M/800/40a, im wondering if i should get a new one or just keep this one.

Thank you for your advice and feedback

Not going to happen. that system is just too old. if you can spend $600 on a new system, then that is realistic to get something that can put most modern games on mid settings. But i dont suggest getting your hopes up about that system for new games.

how much can you spend? Reason I say dont bother with that old system is becasue you would be basically trying to feed a dead horse. Even if you were to upgrade it, its not possible to upgrade that system to a point that it will play new games.

    Dont get the 900
go with the 300 or 200 series...
for the money you save, you can either pocket it or upgrade...

here is an excellent deal on a good power supply that will be plenty of overkill... no rebate hassles
