My CPU Chiller
I've been working on this for a while now. Hopefully I'll be able to drain half the water out & replace it with antifreeze after work tomorrow.

He gave away the seceret in a other thread. It used to be a drinking fountain.
So that's the finished product eh? Doesn't look like you went through to much trouble sealing your board up though.
So is your idle 15°c? That would be amazing. I smell 5Ghz plus very soon.. poor wolfdale.

Something about those two pieces of swiftech gear look very familar to me

.
There used to be an inert fluid called 'flourinert' that I saw a pump system using liquid nitrogen to cool it. You can immerse the entire system in that fluid to cool the entire thing. I was really cool. In theory you can use deionized water since electricity is passed by the ions in the water, but very risky. I'll see if I can find the video although it's been atleast 6yrs since I last saw it.
Anywho, that's a cool setup you got there.
Can't find the vid, but

Since this is my first attempt going sub-ambient, I decided to start with some old hardware. It's an old s478 P4 3.4GHz Prescott on an Abit AI7 mobo on the bench now. If I don't blow it up I'll be moving on to my C2D E8600 on an Asus Maximus Formula SE mobo.
That Prescott is 17x200 stock, so I need 295MHz FSB for that 5.0GHz goal.
Wish me luck!

Oh.. smart man..
I thought you'd throw your wolfy under there. But I guess that's a smart move testing it out first.
You've got me itching to OC again..

You've got me itching to see what I can do. There's a place that I think sells liquid nitrogen not too far from where I am too.

I have thought of adding a second radiater to my rig though, but I'm debating whether its worth the time or not expecially since the only fans I have that are not running the rad are 2 80mm's in the back. Still if it worked I could have plenty of fun since a dual 80mm rad doesn't cost a lot.
Dangit you guys got me in the mood to experiment again

I've almost hit 4.5GHz with my 3.4 Prescott (s478). At 4.2GHz it was running Prime95 at 25C - water was about 1.6C.

Still working on it.
I know the mobo can do it because I had the FSB over 290MHz with the 14x multi. Gonna drop the RAM divider & give it another go...

Why not just have the whole thing suspended in a vat of liquid nitrogen?

I plan on trying it out on a couple C2Ds too. 5GHz should be a lot easier with them than with this Prescott. I have gotten past 4.5 now, but probably won't get any free time to bench until Sunday.
If I only had the vat & a really cheap source for LN2, MTA...

JLK, I still just cannot get over it man, when you posted the picture of a water fountain a few weeks back, I just thought you were crazy, I have to say, I am extremely impressed!! I have showed the pics to people around here and they too are very impressed. Just the thought of overclocking a Prescott scares the living hell out of me. You just proved it CAN be done to the extreme... This is Awsome JLK!!!
