    New Build time!

Hola everyone! It's time for me to assemble a new rig and I would appreciate any input you all might have. I've spent quite a bit of time researching the parts that would best meet my needs and stay within my very limited budget.

    What I need:
    Mobo
    CPU
    HDD
    DVD Burner
    Memory
Case (pretty much settled on this though: Newegg.com - RAIDMAX Hurricane ATX-248WB Black SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Computer Cases)

    What I have:
    PSU (500 Watt OCZ StealthStream)
    GPU (Ati 5770)
    W7 Home Prem 64bit

So I have put together 2 builds that are pretty close in price, one for an AMD AM3 system and an i3 system. Let me know what you all think. Oh, this system will be used for moderate gaming, movies, internet, etc... Thanks to JPMiller for the Case and DVD suggestions, he listed them in someone else's thread!

    AMD Setup
    Mobo: Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards

HDD: Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD7501AALS 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive -Bare Drive

    $399 w/out ship or MIR's

    i3 Setup
Mobo: Newegg.com - Open Box: ASUS P7P55 LX LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard (open box, I know)
    CPU: Newegg.com - Intel Core i3-530 Clarkdale 2.93GHz 4MB L3 Cache LGA 1156 73W Dual-Core Desktop Processor - Processors - Desktops
    Memory: Newegg.com - A-DATA Gaming Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333G (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model AX3U1333GB2G8-AG - Desktop Memory
HDD: Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD7501AALS 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive -Bare Drive
    DVD: Newegg.com - SAMSUNG Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA CD/DVD Burner - CD / DVD Burners

    $437 w/out ship or MIR's included

Keep in mind that I cannot go any higher costwise.

    Thanks for your input!

So I gather you are trying to keep under around $400?

Dont hesitate buying open box from Newegg...
they are pretty reliable with re-shipping only quality working refurbs/openbox
    Newegg.com - OCZ Gold 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model OCZ3G1333LV4GK - Desktop Memory
I would buy this for $81 after MIR

I'd go for the I3 setup...
