Well to be totally honest I personally wouldn't want to spend too much time or money upgrading this old machine. I'm never one to let old parts die but at a certain price point you are spending more than the upgrades are going to be worth. But here's food for thought:

You are asking about a video card upgrade, well which slots are available on the board? I don't really want to search around to find out so if you know you might post that!! It looks like an older setup some I'm guessing AGP or PCI and no PCI-e?

What is your budget? and where do you live? I don't want to waste time looking around for cards to suggest if you are only willing to spend $20 and the cheapest is $50. Nor do I want to post sites you can't shop from!

What is the goal of the upgrade, or why exactly are you spending the cash to go upgrade this particular PC? I ask because the chip you are adding it decent compared to what is in there but hardly going to be worth a high price, the same with the ram.

Agreed with Rich though, with out knowing where your from, suggesting parts might be hard, because they may be from sites outside of your country and region, and may cost more than its worth.

also, why the CPU upgrade? Why a Video card with PS 3.0?

A Geforce 6 series, next one up from what you have, has 3.0 (anything newer will have PS 3.0 or better).

as to Power Supply, we can't suggest something better, with out knowing what you have already.

"Something like this" doesn't help much.

Open the case, and look at the sticker or label on the PSU and post what it is.

Just to be totally honest with you here if you are trying to build this computer up to sell it faster or for a better price unless you can get your parts at a fraction of what they are going to cost new you are wasting your time and going to be wasting money.

Just looking at a few UK sites to add the CPU you want another 1gb of DDR and an AGP card you are looking at spending over £100. For not much more than that you are almost going to be able to build a much newer system that would be faster than what you have.

    Agreed.

Just sell it for what its market value is, then add that to what you Would of spent otherwise upgrading it, then get a newer system.

unless you can get the parts for dirt cheap, as rich said.

As to what I said, yes Geforce 6 Series introduced Pixel Shader 3.0 support.

There are Geforce 6 series AGP cards, I think the biggest was a 6800 GS or 6800 GT.

but these were 8x AGP cards, and May not work in the 4x slot you have. Though it should work since your slot is a 4x Slot that supports only 1.5V cards.

but yes, anything newer than a Geforce 6 Series, or ATI Radeon X1300 Series or newer, should support PS 3.0 or higher.

Pixel shader - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Just a matter of finding an AGP version of the cards.

Almost feel bad when I donate computers similar specs.

Very few if any would buy this, even upgraded. They can spent about 300 dollars for a new machine from any local store that is better than you could ever upgrade that.
