That will be a nice build, wully. All those components will work fine together with Win7.

Are you planning to re-use the Packard Bell case or getting a new one? You (or who ever helps you build) might have problems connecting the case's power, reset, HDD light connector to your motherboard.

Yep, that is a decent set-up there and all the components should work together just fine. Just out curiosity, what will you be using this new rig for? I'm guessing gaming...

Should be fine for almost all games, something like CoD: Black Ops might have to be on lower settings.

If you can afford it, I'd grab a Radeon 6850 (Runs about 150-160 pounds on the Novatech site vs the 100 pounds for the GTS 450), otherwise the GTS 450 should still be good.

Not sure on COD Black Ops, but most other COD games should be capable of 50FPS (Or close to it) or more with that card and hardware.

When I ran it though a Black Ops spec calulator the setup was not recommended as playable, but I figure they always aim really high.

Meh, might be the AMD X2 throwing it off. The video card well exceeds the minimum specs for the game, also lists Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 or better or AMD X3 or better...

Might be seeing the AMD Athlon II X2 as not meeting whats needed for the AMD side of things.

Looked up, the games using a Modified World At War Game engine, and some features from MW2's engine as well.

that GTS 450 is somwhere between a Radeon 5750 and 5770 for performance, and those two cards were similar to Radeon 4850 & 4870, so it should easily run the game.

Though there could be some driver issues or something as well, but pretty sure the system will run the game fine.

not sure which Calculator your using, but see what its says with this CPU instead?

    ADX450WFGMBOX AMD Triple Core Athlon II X3 450 3.2GHz 1.5MB Socket AM3 - Retail Triple Core Technology, 3.2GHz clock speed, 3x512KB L2 Cache, 64-Bit Technology, HyperTransport Technology, 3yr Warranty. : novatech.co.uk

    along with the hardware above.

Could be the GTS 450 is new enough its throwing the calculator off as well.

    Hi Wully,

Whereabouts are you, as I can see that Shy has mentioned Novatech (as have you in the first post) and quoted a couple of prices in quid.....but then you've gone and linked to the Egg.... NewEgg don't want your money if you aren't from the USofA (or possibly Northern America) as I discovered about a year ago.....
I've seen the light... It was green, flashy and attached to a Network Interface Card...
Whenever someone says "You can't miss it", I invariably do...
