    Mating salvaged Case Illumination Parts

    Greetings Case Modders,

This may seem like an extremely basic question relating to mating salvaged case illumination parts, but since I don't normally mess with such stuff, humor me.

First, I hate to see good electronics go to waste, simply because all the stock parts aren't there. Secondly, I'd like to see if these parts can be mated to get a working light tube.

    SITUATION:

Two sets of incomplete case illumination parts. The first is the light tube and a power adapter, but no other power connection wires or one-off switch.

The second is a set of power connection wires, an on-off switch and a power adapter, but no light tube(s).

Can I turn them into one functioning unit?

PARTS SET ONE - LIGHT TUBE

A single case illumination light tube. Looks like a small flourescent tube (about 11.5" in length). It has a power wire connected to one end, terminated by a flat 3 pin, connector, the kind you might find on a front panel button board, but only the two outer connectors are used, one by a black wire, and the other by a white wire.

This tube came with a small matching color oblong box, which I will call POWER ADAPTER (1)

The second set of parts came from a set of light tubes whose tubes were broken, but otherwise is complete with power adapter, wires and on-off switch.

The problem is that the power connector from the Light tube (above) is different from the power connectors (below). I have included images of the power assembly and the power connectors. The female socket connector came from the broken light tube from this set. The male plug runs back to the power adapter.

    Power adapter (2) and M & F power connectors

    QUESTIONS:

    1) Can these sets be turned into one working set?

    2) What is the best way to adapt the power connectors from the light tube to the power adapter from set number two?

    Thanks in advance.

    KJ
