Building Budget PC
Hi guys

So I am planning on building budget gaming PC (1st timer [
])
So is this all compilable and will it fit the case?
I have done some research on the parts I have selected but I'd double check
(If you don't mind
)
Case:Xigmatek ASGARD Gamer Case
http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=870%20Extreme3%20R2.0
GPU:1024MB Sapphire Radeon HD 6850
RAM:4GB Corsair ValueSelect DDR3-1333 DIMM CL9 Single
Corsair Memory — 4GB DDR3 Memory (CMV4GX3M1A1333C9) - Value Select - Memory by Product Family
CPU:AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition 965 4x 3.40GHz
OS: Win 7 home premium
HDD:1TB Samsung SpinPoint F3 SATA-2 7200RPM 32MB
Optical Drive:Samsung DVDRW SATA 22x SH-222AB bare / black
Wlan PCI-e adapter
and 3x Arctic Cooling 120mm fans.
PSU:650W XFX Pro Core Edition 80+ Bronze
And more. In couple of months I plan on buying another GPU so should I buy another HD 6850 or get 6870 in crossfire? ( I would like to keep the same PSU)
And if i buy later on other stick of exactly same RAM is it compilable whit each other as 8 gb of ram?
Cost:633,9€ (w/ shipping) (836,83 USD)
I am geting my parts (not:Case,HDD,Fans and OS)
from: https://www.mindfactory.de/
Thank you in advantage!

Get another 6850 later, or if its not far down the road save up a little more and get a single 6950.
PSU will be perfectly fine for Xfire 6850s/6870s.
Get RAM like this instead...
4GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3-1333 DIMM CL7 Dual Kit - Computer Shop - Hardware, Notebook
4GB is more than enough for gaming.. If you really feel you need more, get another two stick kit.I7 920 @ 4.2Ghz/6GB//GTX480 SLI/M4 64 GB + 1.5 TB + 2x 640 GB/Corsair TX950/ASUS blu-ray/ASUS P6X58D-E + X-Fi /LC PCK62

SLI and budget dont go well together...
Forget SLI/Crossfire and just get the fastest card your budget allows, and then later sell it and get something better...

Well that card is pretty much all I have budget for.
But as I said in couple of months I have more money. What card you would suggest then?
I will a have around 250$ then. Right now I don't really have more.
Unless there is a way to cut off on somewhere else in the build.

No, theres nothing wrong with that card, I'm just sayiong dont build toward using SLI, UNLESS theres a good reason...
Just get the best card you can afford and then when you want/need to upgrade sell the old card and get a new better card

Okay.
Is GTX 460 worth of paying extra 10€?

The 6850,6870,6950, and the 6970, are all faster than a GTX460,AFAIK.
So, no.Hard Sayin Not Knowin

The Nvidia cards in that range are, the GTX470,560Ti, and the GTX590.
I'm only going by Passmark, and that is only close, as it is artificial, by unknown users, and unknown systems.
It gives you a general idea though.
Once you narrow it down, then look for real gaming benchmarks, to verify, it's position.
Or, the other members on this post, will know, right off the top of their heads.

Though not a GTX590 stroyal....

GTX470/560 is about the performance of the 6850/6870.
GTX570 is about the performance of the 6950/6970.I7 920 @ 4.2Ghz/6GB//GTX480 SLI/M4 64 GB + 1.5 TB + 2x 640 GB/Corsair TX950/ASUS blu-ray/ASUS P6X58D-E + X-Fi /LC PCK62

Off the top off your head, I suppose!

That's why I only look at Passmark for the big picture.
It shows the 6950 ahead of the 590, and the 6950 ahead of the 6970

You are a better source.

Haha... considering the GTX590 is 2x GTX580s on the same PCB.... (and one GTX580 will best a 6970).. Think they need to sort out their charts.

Or they need to use multiple GPU apps...

That and other things, one could be a Celeron and the other an i7.

So, I should stay whit 6850?
GTX 550ti is bit cheaper but I have read it is not worth it, right?

GTX 550 Ti is a lesser performing card than the Radeon 6850.
Unless your talking about the GTX 560 Ti, which is a better card.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

No I meant 550ti

Gtx 560 and 560ti are bit too expensive right now.
So would I be good to go whit that build otherwise?
Extra: Does it matter if I get PS/2 or USB keyboard?
Like, Can I do BIOS whit USB keyboard?Last edited by crooky; October 24th, 2011 at 03:24 PM.

most newer systems will boot into BIOS with USB Keyboards, but some still have problems on occasion, hard to say what will/won't work. Usually I think for boards with USB having problems with booting into Bios, usually has to do with low or lack of voltage for the USB port being used.
Just get a USB keyboard, and if it comes with a PS/2 Adapter use that if you have problems, otherwise the PS/2 adapters don't cost much.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green
