    Should I upgrade?

I'm trying to decide if it's worth upgrading my gaming rig. I don't have as much time to play as I used to but when I do I want everything to go smoothly preferably at maxed settings at 1920x1080.

The games I'm currently playing are Battlefield 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic when it comes out.

    Here's what I'm currently running:
    Motherboard: P7P55D EVO
    CPU: Core i5 760 @ 2.8 GHz
    RAM: 4GB DDR3 (1333)
    GFX: GeForce GTX 460

I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading for me right now and if so, what should I look at?

GTX 460 is still a pretty decent card, though it is kind of middle ground now days.

i5 760 is a bit long in the tooth, but still capable. of course the newer Socket 1155 Sandy bridge (2nd Generation Core i Series CPU's) are better, but overall the system looks to be a good middle of the road/mid range rig, kind of leaning towards lower mid range, but still decent.

Depending on what your budget is, you could swap out the Mobo, CPU, and GPU and just reuse all the "old" parts. Would have to reinstall windows though.

Is this a custom built system? What Case are you currently using?

    Whats the Power Supply Specs?

    Newegg.com - Intel Core i5-2500 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2000 BX80623I52500

    Newegg.com - ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

    Newegg.com - EVGA 012-P3-1571-AR GeForce GTX 570 HD w/Display-Port (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Subtotal: $674.97 (Depending on what PSU is currently in the system)

Otherwise Option #2 would be to Overclock the current Quad core if at all (might want to swap out the DDR3 1333 for some 1600, which can be had pretty cheap now days, even for 8GB capacities, but 4GB is plenty fine), and just get a better GPU. (Same suggested GPU above)

500W what? Exact Brand & Model would be helpful.

I just re-read my reply above, when I stated this "i5 760 is a bit long in the tooth, but still capable." I probably shouldn't have said long in the tooth, Socket 1366 i7's would be more like that, but the Socket 1156 i5/i7 quads aren't far behind, still decent over all, just not as good as the 1155 Sandy Bridge chips. And pretty soon here the Socket 1155 Ivy Bridge Chips should be out, with full PCI Express 3.0 support as well. (also just read, PCIe 4.0 spec is slated to be released in 2015 in a few years here as well)

I'm not at home but I know its an antec psu with a mirror finish I think its some black edition. I may be wrong about the 500w it may be 600-650 I realize I'm not being real helpful here.

not sure on the PSU, most current and recent Antecs in that power range I don't remember seeing with a Mirror finish on them. Unless its an older one that isn't made anymore.

there's some other brands I recall that had that kind of finish on them, but can't remember off hand.
