Need suggestions for buying New CPU

I want to spend 500 dollars to build a new CPU. So everyone please guide me.
So far, I have selected the following stuff.

    Intel Core i3-2120 Processor (3MB Cache, 3.30Ghz)
    Intel Desktop Board DH67BL
    Seagate 500 GB (16MB Cache)
    Corsair DDR3 4GB-1333 BUS
    Nvidia GT 430 video card

Any suggestions? Yes the video card is a crap but I am a novice so please suggest and advice

you mentioned in your other thread, your in South Asia/Pakistan, where are you buying or planning on buying this stuff from, we know of no real sites to order from over there.

Unless you are just looking for a general list of parts and try to find as close to that as you can over there?

Well, There are many shops and vendors who sell and then there are tech stores here so it's easy to get all the stuff under one roof.

    I have a question,

Why should I prefer a Dual core over the 2120 Core i3 processor?
and why this Micro ATX Intel motherboard over the one I chose in the initial post.

I compared both the processors and motherboards and both had more features but yes were a bit expensive. I am not rejecting or arguing with your advice but you know I have the money so I want to build something that I can use for years to come and I won't be able to upgrade my PC after this.

They're the same thing, the i3 is just a full spec version, the Pentium G is just a slightly reduced spec version, and to be honest there's little difference between them over all.

it also helps cut price a little with out sacrificing performance much... which would allow you to get more GPU and balance the system out more.

    Simple answer... Intel boards SUCK!!!

Intel generally charges more for their own boards than 3rd parties, and actually usually offers less features and options on them.

They're good build quality boards, but lack features, options and priced higher in general. At least from what I usually see.

Again, cuts cost (no idea how much that board goes for, since you never listed a price for it), and allows more of budget for GPU. (from a brief search on prices on Google that board is AT LEAST a good $90-100, compared to the much cheaper and similar featured Biostar board)

The only thing you lose going with H61/67 or the newer H71 chipsets, is Overclocking options.

Also a MicroATX board usually has less slots, ports, etc, but unless you plan on loading it down with expansion cards and Drives, its not an issue.

based on the budget, your not really going to need or want a Dual Video card capable motherboard, as it would require a bigger PSU for dual cards also.

But the reason I selected that Biostar is that it has a PCIe x16 slot for video cards, has an x1 slot for other expansion cards, and has 2 PCI slots for older cards like sound cards or network cards, or what ever. Even with a Dual Slot PCIe x16 video card, you would still have one PCI slot available to use for "Legacy" cards.

With the budget though I would consider the Dual core I listed, and get something even better in the Video card. a Radeon HD 7750 would be good, costs an easy $100-110, but worth it, and easily runs faster than the 6670, even matches and beats the 6770 sometimes, but uses less power than even the 6670 uses.

The PSU will be enough to run that system even with something like a Geforce GTX 550 Ti, or one of EVGA's GTX 560 SE cards, which for about $130 in the US here, is one of the most powerful cards in its price range. assuming it can be found over there for around the same price.

    Newegg.com - EVGA 01G-P3-1464-KR GeForce GTX 560 SE (Fermi) 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

ends up being a tad over the $500 budget, but worth it.

costs about the same as a HD 7770: Newegg.com - PowerColor AX7770 1GBD5-2DH Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

but runs a tad faster in performance.

the next best thing after it, given its price and power consumption would be an HD 7750.

a Geforce GTX 550 Ti would still be marginally faster, but it costs about the same as these two other cards (120-130 range)
