    Help! Which Processor

    Hi,
    I am going to build a new pc. Now I using a hp computer. (P4 - 1.5GHz). Which processor should I get P4 3.0 , 3.2 or 3.4 GHz?
I want to play new games and little bit of video edititng. I am not in to over clocking. If I get a 3.2 GHz pro , am I going to see any big difference over 2.8 or 3.0 ghz pro. Please help me. Thanks.

There is no such thing such as 'pro' editions in processors, or the Intel P4's. Also, it depends on how much you are willing to pay for a processor. I now have the P4 3.2 GHz, and its extremely powerful, almost too much for me. I would go for any of them, all of them are powerful enough for todays usual tasks in most of the computer users daily time. Just make sure you go for a Northwood P4 (512KB cache) and not the new Prescott's (1MB Cache) because the new Prescott's arent really that great, and they heat up easily. And that 512 extra KB dont help at all. Also they dont have as much support as the Northwoods, which make them a bad choice. If I were you, I would go for a 3.2GHz P4, but it all depends.

Get the fastest one you can afford, its up to you.As far as performance, you wont see much of a difference between those three,IMO.

Just go for whichever you can get for the cheapest. You won't notice a difference apart from maybe in synthetic benchmarks.
