| wanting to upgrade to XP help?
as far as i know HTT on P4s only work in xp pro i currently use Win2k and i was wondering would i notice any speed differences if i upgraded?? I mostly use my computer for gaming...let me know whatr you think |

FYI hyperthreading does work in win2000 |

ok...so would i notice a difference??? and i heard that some aspectso of the C chips didnt work in anything but XP pro |

the hyperthreading part is because windows thinks its 2 cpu's and so you need an os that supports it which 2000 does
I havent heard of anything else that you would need xp pro for though |

this link is saying HT doesnt work in Win2k....but the article is from 2002
I know that HT and SMP (symmetric multi processing) arent the same. http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=5608
