    yeah, the only real reason they are doing this is for money...rather than leaving it up to the consumers to decide to either OC or go and buy a new CPU, they decided to just lock users into whatever they buy until they pay off the loan they had to get to buy an expensive Intel CPU and pull out another loan to buy a more recent CPU...I'm happy with my XP-M 2600+ that I have OCed to 2.5GHz right out the box and I wouldn't leave AMD ever, prolly, unless they decide to implement something like this as well...even though AMD DID do a multiplier lock on the newer Socket A XP's, I have heard that that is just to get more people to switch up to the new socket 939 chips...
