i finally got motherboard monitor 5 to work (i couldnt figure out the sensors for my mobo with the older version).
the case temp is 37-38C
the "cpu diode" temp is 51-52C idle, but jumps to 59-60C with any small action like an IM. i was wondering if its normal for the temp to jump like that? also, i was wondering if the temps could be this high from the 9800se modded to pro i recently installed, which is very hot. i don't know what the temps were before that, though i tried hmonitor a long time ago and it was giving me temps <45C
also, what is "cpu socket" temp? which is 39-40C
room temperature is about 70F
edit: its a barton 2600@ 2049mhz

I wouldn't think a temperature spike of 8+ degrees is normal, especially at that high of a temperature. CPU diode temperature seems a bit high, but I don't know what the difference is between that and the socket temperature.
What are you implimenting for cooling? |

51C seems really hot for an idle speed. But maybe im just used to my CPU |

ok just turned on mbm5 again and the temps are 32C, 46C, 32C and the diode temp jumps to 55C when i do stuff the room temp is still 70F so i dont get why the overall temps are lower
could it be back when i tried hmonitor it was reading the "socket" temp and was giving me wrong info? is it possible that the heat is because of the new vid. card? but then wouldnt the case temp be higher too?
o and i'm using a TT SilentBoost w/ Ceramique and its an Aspire X-Gear case with just the 2 fans that came in it (window and top) |

The 50s are fairly warm, especially consdiering you have thermal paste and stuff. Possibily too thick a layer was applied?
Also, Id check the temps in the BIOS, just to make sure they match. Sometimes the programs in windows dont read the sensors correctly |

look up the bios updates for your board... if there is one pertaining to motherboard temps, you may want to consider updating the bios... |

i was thinking it shouldnt be that high. while it was saying 47, i restarted and went into the bios and it said 32, which is what the "socket" temp said. so if that's the right reading, what could the "cpu diode" possibly be measuring? and if the higher one is right, could the bios be wrong? and the spikes r just weird..
will go see if there are any bios updates. |

there is a bios update but nothing pertaining to temperatures:
18d107.zip
0.24 MB
R1.07
2004/5/21
1.Added new item "Memory Auto Precharge",(default value set to disable)
*wonder what that does* |

I can't seem to get my temps lower than 50c.. I'm not even o'cd.. The good thing is when I did Oc my 2500 it didn't rise alot.. From what I've been reading 50C is about the norm for these chips.. |
