| Use more ram tweak your system
hey guys i have a cheap dell and a cpu celeron. here is my specs
mobo : Dell basis
cpu : Pentiun celeron 1.7 ghz (clocked at 1.69)
ram : 1024 ( 2 x 512k > pc 2100)
Video: Integraded in the mobo
Sound: Nice forget the model.
cd : 1) dvd rom 2)Cd-r/rw burner writer
i have no agp slot for a video card.
I have probably the fastest 1.7 celeron. I keep my sytem clean. NO junk.
i know integrated video steals you cpu and ram speed. Is there a way to relie on the ram more instead of the cpu. I use 100% cpu and 200mb-600mb out of 1024 memory. I want less dependensy on my cpu and more on ram. I can not crash my comp on due to memory.( unless i open up 70 ms paints > tested to 65). Any ideas to tweak. thnx |

Here's one.
If you have 512 megs or more of memory, you can increase system performance by having the core system kept in memory.
Go to Start>Run, type in: regedit
Follow this string to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager\Memory Management\DisablePagingExecutive
Double click DisablePagingExecutive
Set the value to be 1
Restart your computer for this to take affect |

It prevents the operating system from sending user-mode and kernel-mode drivers, as well as kernel-mode system code, to the paging file. By having it in memory it keeps the cpu from having to get it from the hard drive thereby freeing up some of the cpu cycles. |
