a 2200+ Sempron runs at 1,5ghz...
obviously the guy that told u that it was 2,2ghz was a schmuck and ought to be fired! The AMD rating system isnt the speed of the CPU...

yeah that guy was full of it
my 1800+ runs at 1530MHz
AMD's rating system is based on equevilent Intel speeds
2200+ AMD can equal or out preform an Intel 2.2 GHz chip
there are many threads about the two rating systems. I'll try to find some links
or go to AMD's site
you didn't get a bad deal, just bad info
AMD rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

athlon xp 2200+ (1.8GHz) = pentium 4 2.2GHz
Sempron 2200+ (1.5GHz) = celeron 2.2GHz
though i have a hard time believing the sempron would perform as bad as a celeron, especially overclocked

its not based on the northwood celeron, the sempron is based on the celly D,
the pr for the lower end XPs is pretty close but when you get higher up it becomes a bit misleading because of all the different p4s with the same clockspeed...AMD says it dosent rate them based on the p4s, but the speed the original tbird would need to pe clocked at to perform equally...I don't believe that because an a64 3200+ performs much better than an xp 3200+

Their needs to be a graph or chart for all this, to compare the all |
