Is there gonna be one? When is it coming out? I am just curious about it, so if anyone has links to articles and such, that would be appreciated.

Meh.... I can't really explain it much simpler. When are the newest cpus (not the p4s tho) by intel coming? My friends keep on talking about "Pentium 5s" Is there really gonna be any soon (like in the next two years) ? |

the naming is usually one of the last things to be dedided, there are a few possible cantidates right now that i think would be appropriate for a name change...if they don't change to something else
smithfield--dual core prescotts due out in Q2 this year
conroe--based on a future pentium M core but intended for desktops...probobally not untill 1H 06 though
i once heard somebody say they should call them pentium² because pent- is the prefix for 5 ...thats also a good idea because there will be 2 cores
