Buying more memory?
Hi im planning to buy more memory because my computer is starting to run slow and i have games like WoW and Rome Total War on my computer. Right now my comp has 256 MB and is 2.0 GHz. What do you guys suggest i should buy, because im clueless when it comes to this.

Well, you have to figure out what speed the RAM is; such as PC2700 or PC3200, etc. Then basically buy that. I'd then buy a stick of 512Mb if I were you.

Need more specs on your computer before we can make any suggestions.

You have to open up the case and look on the RAM itself. Make sure the system is off before you open up...

Try running Everest Home Edition
It will tell you all you need to know about your system.

What motherboard do you have, I can help you if I know that
You have 2 options
1. Trash the pc2100 RAM and buy some pc3200 RAM (if you add them together the pc3200 will slow down to pc 2100 which is silly to do so)
2. Buy more pc2100 RAM (which I would not recomend)Cute

RAM is backwards compatible (for the most part) as long as you stay with the same style (SD, DD,RD, etc...)
If you bought pc3200, unless some freaky cosmic alien built your computer (which could be the case, it is gateway
) the pc3200 will run itself at pc2100 speeds (espescialy if you leave your old ram in there. they both have to run at the same speed and will automatically go to the slower speed
